"Finding the Fable"
Watch the new documentary produced by ACDS and directed by Nicholas Ellenbogen now online!
"Finding the Fable" looks at issues impacting on community resilience through the eyes of a very diverse group of people. The Limpopo border area is a fragmented landscape which influences the lives and livelihoods of its inhabitants. Ordinary people tell how the Limpopo river, social and land issues, wildlife and cycles of drought and flood affect their everyday lives.
A journey to find a new fable.
On a quest to write an updated version of the fable 'The Elephant Child' by Rudyard Kipling, director/playwright Nicholas Ellenbogen accompanies consultant Michael Murphree on journey along the Limpopo river through farm land, tribal land and military held areas along the South Africa/Zimbabwe border. They discover communities longing to secure their livelihoods but which find themselves disempowered by their circumstances.
DRR Advocacy music video: Loaded Gun
The ACDS recently had the pleasure of working with local South African artists Lloyd and Bruno on our teaching documentary "Finding the Fable". Lloyd and Bruno not only allowed us to use their music in our documentary but also their music video as a DRR advocacy tool. Watch "Loaded Gun" below.
